DescriptionThe idea of a serious threat from climate change is now becoming more and more accepted. The Al Gores of this world are becoming more vocal, and the cynics are being heard less often. The balance of scientific opinion is now that the evidence is irrefutable: the Earth is getting warmer, and at an unprecedented rate, due to increasing human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases. Melting Point examines the global warming issue in a specifically New Zealand context. Author descriptionEric Dorfman is the author of Sanctuary and Inside New Zealand's National Parks. Eric was born and raised in California. He moved to Australia to do his PhD on the behaviour of water birds and has worked as a wildlife ecologist in the United States, Australia, South Africa and the Pacific. He has written numerous articles on nature and ecology in both scholarly and popular journals. Formerly employed at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Eric is now a freelance writer and researcher living in Wellington. |
