... And Then Somme
Author(s): Walter Horn
As per title. For 90 years Walter Horn's letters, written during the period 27 October 1915 to 12 May 1919, whilst not complete, were unknowingly closeted among family effects. Only now is it realised that they have the potential to add to first-hand accounts already written by soldiers of World War I. These letters also offer thumbnail sketches of early dairy and general farming - specifically in the Thames Valley area. Observations are also made of comparable activities on the farmlands of Europe.
