Simon Adams studied at London and Bristol universities, before working as an editor of children's reference books and becoming a full-time writer. He has written and contributed to more than 50 books on subjects as varied as the Titanic, World War II, the history of jazz, volcanoes and weather. He lives in London, England, and is a keen cyclist.
