Maori language edition of the second book in the Maketu series which focuses on the threatened wildlife of Aotearoa. Mr Tuna is an arrogant slithery eel who presides over the Kaituna River near the Maketu Pie Shop. Whitebait is his favourite kai. He meets up with his old whitebait friends, Whitey, Freddy and Tere, and while he's thinking about succulent morsels inside his puku, they cleverly lure him into a whitebait net. Based carefully on the eel's lifecycle, the story can be enjoyed by itself or used as part of a science programme. Candice Reading is a former teacher, osteopath and naturopath who has practised in London. Unable to continue in practice after a spinal injury she has turned to writing.
