John Z Robinson on was born in Foxton 1953 and served his jeweller's apprenticeship in Palmerston North. From 1978-80 he attended art school at the Otago Polytechnic School of Art, and has been a self-employed jeweller since 1998. He has exhibited prints and paintings in the Eastern Southland Gallery Gore; the Manawatu Art Gallery; the Bath House Museum and Art Gallery in Rotorua, and the New Zealand Consulate in New York. His jewellery is included in 'The Scots in New Zealand' exhibition at Te Papa, which runs from 2007-2010. He has had exhibitions in private dealer galleries throughout New Zealand.
