Gillian Shields was born in Yorkshire and read English at Cambridge. After university she studied acting in London. She then taught drama for several years. Having children gave Gillian her first motivation to write stories for them. She is married and has a young son and a grown-up daughter. She lives in East Sussex. This will be her first picture book for Gullane Children's Books. Liz Pichon studied graphic design then worked in the music industry as a designer and art director. After freelancing for a while, she then turned her talented hand to children's books and has had many titles published since. In 2004 she won the Nestle Smarties Silver book prize for My Big Brother Boris. Liz lives with her husband and three children in Brighton.
