Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892) was born in Lincolnshire and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 1850 and elevated to the peerage as Baron Tennyson in 1884. He is buried in Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey. This is a collection of the best of his poems.
